About us Brooklinen
Confession time: I used to be the type of person who just bought the cheapest acceptable sheets possible. I figured it didn’t really make a difference. But now that I am a Real Adult (™), I’ve realized that investing in nicer sheets is 100% worth it. In 2022, we’re treating ourselves to luxe linen sheets, fluffy down comforters, silky pillowcases, and everything else you need to turn your bed into a sanctuary. And if you’re also ready to upgrade your bedding, you’ve probably come across Brooklinen sheets. Good news: we’ve got the real Brooklinen sheets reviews you’ve been waiting for.
You’ve probably scrolled past those Brooklinen ads on Instagram showing perfectly tousled sheets in gorgeous light-filled apartments. (I’m not extremely jealous or anything). But if you’re wondering what the real deal is when it comes to Brooklinen’s offerings, we’ve got all the info you need. We got our hands on some of Brooklinen’s most popular sets, like the classic percale sheets and their bestselling luxe sateen sheets. And we’re here to tell you whether or not Brooklinen sheets are worth the hype. We’ve also included lots of helpful info about which sheets are good if you’re on the hunt for cooling sheets, and which sheets are cozier if you need to bundle up against the cold.
The Classic Set
First up, Brooklinen’s Classic Core Sheet Set: standard percale bedding that’s soft, cool, crisp, and suited for all seasons. Percale, known for its smooth, matte finish, refers to the way the fabric is woven—one thread under, one over. When made well, the folds and creases sort of stand up on their own, like the peaks of whipped cream, and are so light.
These feel like damn hotel sheets! Since Brooklinen’s take on the percale set is 250-thread-count cotton—on the lower side of what’s considered average for good bedding—they’re incredibly light and cool. I was practically kissing them when my landlord turned on the radiators in my ancient Brooklyn building, making my bedroom akin to a dry sauna. If you (or your partner) are a hot sleeper or if you have a landlord who likes to run the radiators at full blast, this is the breathable option of your dreams.
When I first opened the package, I thought there was no way the sheets could ever be soft. They felt a little plasticky until I heeded the included directions and ran them through the washer and dryer before putting them on my bed.
Priving
The Classic Core Sheet Set (which includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases) will run you $134 for a full or queen set or $161 for a king or California king set. For a twin or twin XL set, expect to pay $98.
A Cozy Cashmere Set
I love a good cashmere sweater, but sheets made of cashmere sweaters sound a bit stuffy? But actually, these sheets combine cozy cashmere vibes with the lightweight breathability of cotton. So they’re nice and soft, but you won’t overheat during the night.
For a full or queen set of the Heathered Cashmere Core Sheet Set (includes fitted sheet, flat sheet, and two pillowcases), you can expect to pay $251. A king or California king set will be a little more, at $269. These sheets aren’t available in twin or twin XL sizes.
A Snuggly Flannel Set
Can’t you see yourself snuggling up in a rustic cabin somewhere with these sheets as a fire crackles in the background?? These sheets are Brooklinen’s newest offering. They’re 100% cotton flannel that’s been brushed for extra softness and the style is “inspired by classic menswear prints.”
These sheets have 4.8 out of 5 stars across 117 reviews, so yeah, not bad. Plenty of reviewers say these came in handy when temperatures dropped in the winter. A few even say that it’s hard to get out of bed once you have these cozy flannel sheets.
There are very few one or two star reviews for these sheets (although remember, these are the newest offering from Brooklinen, so fewer people overall have bought them). But a couple of reviewers mention the sheets pilling quickly, and one mentions that they can get pretty toasty.
The Flannel Core Sheet Set costs $152 for a twin set, $170 for a full or queen set, and $215 for a king or California king set. The set includes a flat sheet, a fitted sheet and two pillowcases.
A Luxe Silky Set
I tend to prefer the matte look of percale and always thought sateen—another, slightly more complicated weave pattern—would be too clingy or hot. It’s true that the fabric drapes a bit closer to the body, but turns out, I’ve just been buying poorly made sheets that gave this bedding an unfairly bad rap. Brooklinen’s Luxe Sateen Set is its all-time best seller and has definitively changed my mind about the material for good.
I thought these sheets would be sticky and heavy and hot, but I’m happy to report I was incredibly wrong—these felt soft right out of the box. By the time I had washed them and was ready to make my bed (which, BTW, Brooklinen makes very easy by labeling the long and short ends of its bedding), they felt like the soft cotton T-shirt you save for cozy days. But thanks to the 480-thread count, they live up to their luxe title. They’re slick, but because the fitted sheet is designed to fit mattresses up to 15 inches deep (like my beloved Casper), they stay perfectly in place. Meaning? No waking up with tangled limbs tangled.
Despite feeling like buttah, the higher thread count meant I woke up a bit sweaty (remember the crazy radiators?). If you live somewhere cold or like feeling extra cozy when you sleep, these should be a good fit for you.
The Luxe Core Sheet Set (a flat sheet, a fitted sheet, and two pillowcases) will cost you $121 for a twin or twin XL set, $157 for a full or queen set, and $175 for a king or California king set.

An Über-Soft Linen Set
If there were a status fabric for sheets, it would be linen. I’ve spent most of my adult life pining for it—it gets super hot in my apartment in the summer (hello, no A/C), and nothing makes me feel worse than waking up sweaty. The material is known to be moisture-wicking because it can retain more of its weight in water than traditional cotton can. I tried these earlier this year, during the hot late-summer months, in order to give them a proper test.
I can’t say I never woke up sweaty, but I definitely woke up with the sheets still on me—not kicked off—more mornings than not. I was worried that linen would be rough or coarse, but this bedding felt gauzy and light, and it’s my new go-to summer set.
If you need your bed to look perfect at all times, these sheets probably aren’t for you. They get quite wrinkly after a few nights of sleeping in them and stretch between washes. And while they’re super soft, it does take a while to get used to the feeling of linen.
